Advantia coating systems are fully formulated, one-step coating systems containing selected polymers(s), plasticizers and optionally pigment/opacifier or detackifier. All products are supplied as custom formulations of free-flowing powders. Coating suspensions are simply prepared using suggest solids in water (% w/w) at ambient temperature and then applied using appropriate process conditions.

A wide range of colors
All Advantia coatings are available pigmented or unpigmented. When a colored tablet is required, an Advantia coating can be formulated to meet your individual color needs, limited only by specific, local color regulations. In addition, ISP maintains a database of colored formulations and can select a formulation quickly based on your requirements. As regulatory requirements vary by country, ISP can assist in selecting a color for your pharmaceutical or dietary supplement product to meet color regulations in the regions your product is to be sold.

Our technical capabilities
At ISP, we provide the global sales and service support you require from a film coating supplier. Our scientists, working in our nine pharmaceutical laboratories around the world, routinely assist in coating formulation selection, film coating evaluation, and color matching. To support Advantia coatings, we have a broad range of tools available for characterizing and assessing the properties of film coatings and film coated products. We also support our customer trials with Advantia coatings from small scale to full-scale commercial production

Advantia Prime coatings are based on existing pharmaceutically-acceptable polymers, like hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose (HPMC) for immediate-release film coating applications.

Advantia Performance coatings are based on methacrylic acid ethyl acrylate copolymer for delayed- (enteric) release of oral solid dosage forms, such as tablets, multiparticulates, two-piece gelatin capsules and soft gels. Unlike the traditional three-step preparation procedure for enteric-release coating suspensions, Advantia Performances coatings are simply added as powder to water stirred in a suitable mixing tank to create a vortex reducing the time and saving money in coating suspension preparation.
